Caterer cuts labour costs with new dishwashing kit

A leading event caterer claims to be making savings of £130 a week since upgrading its dishwashing system to a more efficient offering.

Lincolnshire-based Jocasta’s insists it has reduced its costs after choosing one of Hobart’s hood-type warewashers and is even predicting that the standard bearing AUPT-10A machine will have paid for itself within a year of purchase.

Steve Horbury, managing director at the outdoor event specialist, says that while he was hesitant over the initial capital outlay, the equipment is living up to its promises.

“After our first big weekend of operating the machine I am amazed at the results, speed of operation and labour cost savings – catering for 350 people for a full service, four-course meal with 3,400 pieces of crockery and cutlery,” he said.

Horbury is so pleased with the machine’s performance that he has now ditched the idea of employing a second pot washer, saving the company £130 per event.

“I can honestly say it’s the biggest cost saving appliance we have ever purchased for our business. Working on just two events per week the machine will have paid for itself in just 12 months.”
