Caterer goes in new direction with multi-concept food destination

Rhubarb Hospitality Collection has opened a new 20,000 square-foot multi-concept food and beverage destination in the heart of London.

The Market at 22 Bishopsgate features a brasserie called Market Kitchen, wine bar, food stalls and coffee bar and an outdoor café called Blend in partnership with The Gentlemen Baristas.

The contemporary and creative dining space on the second floor of 22 Bishopsgate, operated by RHC, showcases the group’s unique capability of managing multiple food and beverage disciplines under one roof, and has been collaboratively designed by DesignLSM, The Morris Project and AXA.

The concept is designed to embrace shared eating experiences, and prioritise sustainability and seasonality.

The Market comprises Blend, a specialist coffee bar in partnership with The Gentlemen Baristas; On Tap; a modern wine bar serving a selection of wine on tap; Residency, a regular changing concept that will also house chef partnerships, Patch, a healthy salad bar and, for something more substantial, Market Kitchen, a brasserie serving market fresh food in a casual yet contemporary environment, with adjoining outdoor terrace bar.

The 450-cover space will also host a range of pop-up residencies; supper clubs; as well as a cultural area supporting a dynamic programme of talks, music and private events.

The Market is currently only accessible to the smart building’s 12,000 occupiers but plans to open to the wider public later in the year.
