Catering equipment supplier brings warranty process back in house

Catering Equipment Professional has implemented a series of key changes to the way it manages warranties in a move that it insists will benefit users of its products.

The company, which supplies cooking, refrigeration and dishwashing equipment, said that any products purchased from yesterday onwards will now be covered by a two-year parts and labour warranty.

In addition, the business, now part of Pentland Wholesale, will take full responsibility for the management of the warranty process.

Previously, the company’s distributors have been encouraged to place warranty service calls directly with CEP-nominated third party providers. However, they will now be required to place calls with CEP Service, which will manage every aspect of the process.

The firm noted that that CEP Service will be responsible for both products supplied before January 2018, and still covered by the previous one-year warranty, as well as those eligible for the new two-year warranty.

Catering Equipment Professional was formed back in 2008, originally trading as Alpeninox UK. The business was acquired by Pentland in August.

At the time, CEP boss David Jones said that joining forces with Pentland would open up new doors for the company’s continued development.
