Catering procurement firm to build full demo kitchen at new HQ

Pelican Procurement Services HQ, Farnborough

Hospitality supply chain specialist Pelican Procurement Services has signed an agreement to move to a new HQ which will house a state-of-the-art development kitchen.

The company has agreed to take a 10,000 square foot site at the Ascent 4 building at Farnborough Aerospace Centre, becoming the first hospitality business to locate there in the process.

Pelican intends to install a full demonstration kitchen, which will be utilised for training of staff and the testing of new recipes and menus.

It will be joined at the site by associates from parent company Aramark and fellow subsidiary Trinity Purchasing.

Pelican, which was previously based at Elstead, Surrey, has more than 30 years of expertise within the food service and catering industries, supporting organisations with in-house catering provision and supply chain management in the education, healthcare and hospitality sectors.

As well as the test kitchen facility, the new office space will feature impressive reception and break-out areas, an on-site cafe and gym, and dedicated shuttle buses for staff.

Franco Scannella, managing director at Pelican Procurement Services, said: “Growth in our business has led to pressure on our existing space. Having undertaken a thorough selection process, visiting a number of other locations, we felt Ascent 4 was the right building and location for the Pelican team.”

Pelican will move to the new site in the fourth quarter of 2020.
