RA Venues has appointed Steve Groves as executive chef at Glyndebourne, the iconic cultural opera house in the heart of the Sussex countryside, set to reopen this May.
Mr Groves was crowned MasterChef: The Professionals Winner in 2009 before joining the RA Group family with a position at Roux at Parliament Square in 2010 and subsequently became executive chef in 2013.
During his time there, he curated set and tasting menus which creating contemporary dishes with local produce inspired by the seasons.
At Glyndebourne he will oversee all F&B including the Middle & Over Wallop fine-dining restaurant, Mildmay restaurant and Nether Wallop restaurant, all of which champion seasonal produce from British suppliers.
He said: “I am delighted to join Glyndebourne ahead of the reopening this May. Glyndebourne is an iconic cultural venue in the UK and we are looking forward to providing unforgettable dining experiences in an incredible location after such a hard year for the hospitality industry.”
Prior to joining RA Group, Mr Groves worked at Launceston place and The Inn at Perry cabin in the US.
More recently, he won The Craft Guild of Chefs National Chef Of The Year in 2019.
