The team behind the Six by Nico chain – which offered a changing six-course tasting menu at multiple large city locations every six weeks – has launched an ecommerce platform that brings industry-standard food and drink experiences to homes across the UK.
Spearheaded by chef Nico Simeone and marketing guru Michael Sim, HOME-X is promising to provide customers with the best restaurant experiences at home.
The venture has already created a number of chef and kitchen assistants at the Glasgow production kitchen it operates from.
Customers will be able to enjoy everything from vegan-tasting dishes, handpicked artisan cheeses, exceptional wines and pre-prepared Chateaubriand.
The launch of HOME-X will also mean that for the first time ever, food from Six by Nico kitchens will be available across the UK.
Home delivery boxes will include the finest pre-prepared ingredients and full cooking instructions to make the process as hassle-free and tasteful as possible. Dishes will be dispatched using the very latest food shipping storage technology.
Each experience will be refreshed every month, with delivery included across the UK.
The HOME-X team has developed each of the initial wave of food, drink and lifestyle brands in-house after extensive research and detailed analysis of its online communities.
The first brands to launch on the platform include Home by Nico, STEM wine club, Chateau-X, The Cheese Club, and vegan offering 24 Carrot.
E.Eatery will also launch next month, with at-home dining experiences created in collaboration with some of the UK’s favourite eateries.
The dine at home experience will follow a similar format to the Six by Nico restaurants – with an ever-changing four-course tasting menu, themed around memories or places.
Mr Simeone said: “When we were forced to close the Six by Nico restaurants across the UK, we gave fans of the brand a chance to make our signature tasting menu at home and the feedback was phenomenal.
“We packed and distributed over 100,000 meals across sites in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Belfast, but we felt there was so much scope to service the rest of the UK, and to give our customers even more dining options at-home.
“The HOME-X experiences give customers the opportunity to dine-in or stay at home while still enjoying the same top-quality culinary experience, but now with even more choice”.
Prices for the array of experiences that HOME-X will initially feature on the site vary from £50 to £70 and ranges from two to four servings.
HOME-X has hired 50 staff across two locations in Glasgow – a head office and a 7,000 square foot distribution warehouse.
The kitchens and packing centre has created 30 permanent jobs, including chefs and kitchen assistants, with a further 20 positions within its digital team.
