Commercial Kitchen officially confirmed yesterday that the show will move to London from 2020.
The exhibition – which brings together top industry suppliers and kitchen operators from all vertical sectors – has taken place in Birmingham for the last four years, but organisers said the switch would provide it with a platform for further growth.
Next year’s show is scheduled for Wednesday 3 June and Thursday 4 June at ExCeL London.
The event’s organiser, Diversified Communications, already runs a series of very successful industry shows at ExCeL, including Lunch! and Casual Dining.
With London reported to be home to more kitchens per square metre than anywhere else in the UK, event manager Katie Tyler said the switch of location would ensure that 2020 is its “biggest edition yet”.
She said 50% of this year’s exhibitors had already booked space for the 2020 show.
“The time is right for a change and the news has already generated a lot of interest and enthusiasm from our exhibitors, supporters, and visitors alike,” she said.
“Best of all, the tenancy enjoys similar dates, with our 2020 show scheduled to open on 3-4 June. Plus, when the Elizabeth line opens, ExCeL London will become even more accessible from both Heathrow and central London in minutes.”
Arnaud Kaziewicz, executive chef at EAT, has backed the move. He said: “After seeing what the organisers did when they moved their food-to-go show Lunch! to ExCeL, I have no doubt that Commercial Kitchen 2020 will be the best one yet.”
