Foodservice Equipment Journal is delighted to officially announce that Commercial Kitchen will again serve as the Supporting Partner of this year’s FEJ Awards.

Now in its fourth year, Commercial Kitchen is the must-attend trade event for buyers and specifiers of professional kitchen equipment in the foodservice sector.

Thousands of high-level buyers from restaurant chains, pubs, hotels, education providers and professional caterers attended the most recent show, with one in four responsible for annual corporate spend of more than £1m and one in ten presiding over a budget in excess of £5m.

The FEJ Awards take place on the first night of the 2019 Commercial Kitchen show, Tuesday 4 June. Suppliers and operators attending the event at the NEC during the day will only need to make the short walk across to the Birmingham Hilton Metropole for a night of networking, socialising and celebrating.

The evening will start at 7pm with a champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner and the presentation of awards to the country’s leading foodservice operators and equipment suppliers.

Katie Tyler, event manager at Commercial Kitchen, said the launch of the FEJ Awards in 2018 was a natural fit with Commercial Kitchen, as suppliers and operators attending the show were able to continue their networking at the awards ceremony.

“After the success of the first-year awards, we were more than thrilled to confirm our partnership with FEJ and are delighted to, once again, be the Supporting Partner of the awards. Like Commercial Kitchen, these much-needed awards are completely dedicated to the industry and focused on celebrating the innovation within it. It is so important to celebrate back-of-house achievements and honour those champions steering change, especially given the recent challenges within the foodservice industry.”

Mrs Tyler said the calibre of suppliers and buyers that attend Commercial Kitchen reflects the importance of product innovation and kitchen design and with this year’s show set to feature even more innovation there has never been a more valuable time to attend.

“Having the FEJ Awards on the evening of day one enables attendees to spend time relaxing with peers and new friends after a busy day at the show. We are really looking forward to another great awards evening and celebrating the vibrant industry we work in.”

Andrew Seymour, editorial director of FEJ, commented: “Thanks to its focused approach towards suppliers and buyers of commercial catering equipment and solutions, Commercial Kitchen will once again be bustling with activity and new innovations. The quality and relevance of attendees makes it an outstanding trade event and we are delighted to have the show on board as the Supporting Partner of the FEJ Awards. 2019 is set to be the biggest edition of Commercial Kitchen yet and, after the success of last year, we look forward to putting on another memorable awards programme that rewards the kitchen innovators of this industry.”

Category shortlists for the FEJ Awards will be voted on by the industry, with operators voting on suppliers, and suppliers voting on operators, to determine the winners. Full details of the nomination process and how to enter will be published shortly.
