Darwin & Wallace will open an eighth bar this November in Canary Wharf, its first East London location.

The new bar promises to offer “a soothing sanctuary from the fast pace of Canary Wharf” and is set on the side of the dock by Mackenzie Walk.

The site will feature a generous bar, dining spaces, lounge seating and a south-facing terrace to seat 170 people.

Mell Mariott, Darwin & Wallace’s managing director, said: “Our eighth site in a tremendous waterside location in the heart of Canary Wharf marks another exciting chapter for us as we move east, continuing our aspiration to create uniquely designed bars with a home from home aesthetic that forms the perfect backdrop for socialising from morning coffee to nightcap and everything in between.

“We are proud to have been invited to become part of Canary Wharf life and look forward to opening in the autumn.”

The new site will offer 40 hand-picked wines, along with a selection of craft, draught and bottled beers, refreshing house-made soft drinks and a collection of seasonal long and short serve cocktails.

Food will also be served, with an all-day menu curated by executive chef Simon Duff.

In terms of design, the Canary Wharf location will feature contemporary artwork, hand-crafted tiles and carefully curated pieces of handmade furniture.

Darwin & Wallace is a collection of local addresses, neighbourhood bars in quintessential London villages: No 11 Pimlico Road, No 32 The Old Town, No 1a Duke Street, No 197 Chiswick Fire Station, No 29 Power Station West, 601 Queen’s Rd and No 17 Dickens Yard.
