Delaware North is bringing a range of classic American snacks to the UK for this summer’s Major League Baseball (MLB) game at the London Stadium.
The match, which will be contested by The New York Yankees and The Boston Red Sox on June 29th and 30th, will see the hospitality firm offer a host of snacks including the ‘Boomstick,’ described as “an awesome 2ft-long hot dog” and Boomtown Nachos, which come served with pulled pork, fresh chillies and squeezy cheese.
The Boomstick was invented by Delaware North chef Chris Vasquez, who will be in the UK for the event, and is now considered a staple of the MLB experience across the US.
The firm will also be bringing one of its most experienced ‘Hawkers’ from the US to train UK staff in the art of selling snacks to seated spectators.
Delaware North is one of the largest privately-owned hospitality companies in the world, and has been operating in the UK since 2007, when it took over the hospitality at the then newly-refurbished Wembley Stadium.
The firm’s UK portfolio now includes The London Stadium, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Fulham’s Craven Cottage, Derby’s Pride Park stadium and the Ricoh Arena.
The firm serves more than 500 million guests annually, generating annual revenue of more than £2.8 billion.
