Duke Manufacturing – the supplier of holding units used by QSRs such as Burger King and Subway – has added a second agency to represent its products in the UK market.
The brand has tied up with Commercial Catering Projects (CCP), the firm that was set up by catering equipment stalwarts Simon Callus and Rob Gibson last year.
CCP will be working closely with Victor Manufacturing, which will provide logistical and other essential support, while acting as a UK subsidiary, which is a crucial point due to Brexit. Duke’s European headquarters are based in the Czech Republic.
Duke Manufacturing claims that in the past five years alone, it has delivered quantifiable cost savings for its customers in excess of £18m globally.
It developed a broiler program for Burger King that produced savings of 40%-60% annually versus its pre-existing equipment, while it designed and implemented an equipment retrofit programme for Taco Bell that allows its restaurants to eliminate water from hot holding, generating significant savings in both energy use and maintenance.
For Subway, it established a consolidation programme that lowers freight costs, reduces damage in transit and, perhaps most significantly, enables the chain to now open new stores three days faster than before.
The strategic partnership in the UK represents the second such agreement for CCP, having initially agreed to become sole agents for the Czech-based international combination oven manufacturers Retigo.
Mr Callus said: “As manufacturer sales agents, we wanted to align ourselves with specialist manufacturers that could support the UK market and provide great solutions for the commercial kitchen. We very much see this as a strategic partnership and one that will complement the Retigo offer within the various market sectors.
Mr Gibson added: “CCP is committed to sourcing equipment that covers the key touch points in a commercial kitchen, which this new partnership with Duke Manufacturing will enable us to offer. It is a perfect synergy and we are looking forward to working closely with the Duke and Victor teams at this exciting time.”
