European Pizza & Pasta Show succumbs to coronavirus restrictions

Organisers of the European Pizza & Pasta Show have confirmed that the exhibition will not go ahead next month after all.

The exhibition, which brings together equipment buyers and suppliers in the Italian food segment, was due to take place at London ExCeL on 10-11 November.

Only last month, organiser IPR Events had published a guide on how it intended to run the event safely, including an extensive set of measures to comply with regulations.

But with restrictions tightening within the last fortnight and coronavirus cases increasing, IPR confirmed the 2020 show would be cancelled and return in 2021 instead.

In a statement, it said: “It is with heavy heart that we have to postpone the EPPS 5th year celebrations due to the increase of Covid-19 cases and in line with the UK government’s current restrictions on organising and staging conferences, exhibitions and indoor sport events.”

IPR said a “new and larger” edition of the show has been scheduled for 10-11 November 2021.
