Luxury dessert restaurant chain Heavenly Desserts is planning to take its treats global, with a string of openings planned in Canada as it also sets its sights on expansion opportunities in the USA, Middle East and Pakistan.

Operational development manager at the chain, Chris Conaghan, told FEJ that the company plans to continue its international expansion next year, stating that the “USA is very much on the cards”.

The chain plans to open several sites in Canada in the coming months, with Mr Conaghan noting that its first store in the country would be launching near Toronto soon, following some delays to its opening.

Mr Conaghan said: “We’re really excited to see how we do in North America. We are opening just outside of Toronto. USA is very much on the cards. We’ve received a number of enquiries, which gives us a lot of hope.

“There are multiple conversations going on. It’s an absolutely ginormous place and the level of the conversations happening is really exciting. Huge potential when you consider there are over 700 Dunkin’ Donuts in New York State alone.

“Pakistan – our directors were recently out in Karachi a couple of weeks ago. We had master rights over there that have been sold as well as the Middle East. Within the next 12-18 months we will have at least four or five stores internationally.”

The chain is also expanding in the UK and plans to open a string of new sites over the next year.

Mr Conaghan said: “We have got at least 15 stores in the pipeline that will see us through the next 12-14 months, so before the end of the year we will be on 45 stores. We are sort of spreading our wings down to the South East as well with an opening in Canterbury, which will be launching in just a few weeks’ time.”

The new store at the Riverside development in Canterbury is expected to open on 9 December, with Uber Eats delivery also due to be available.

A new store is also opening in Glasgow, Scotland.

The company recently launched a new luxury afternoon tea menu across several of its stores, with the chain also offering a tapas-style dessert menu featuring signature dishes.
