Expanding Southern-style family dining group, Hickory’s Smokehouse, is ramping up its UK operation with the launch of a new restaurant, complete with a giant fire pit in its kitchen.
The six-strong chain, which has sites in the North West, at Chester and West Kirby, is expected to open the doors of its newest property in Southport, illustrated in the sketch above, in the run-up to the festive season.
The restaurant is being developed on the site of a former pub on Folkestone Road and will create 60 new jobs.
Hickory’s 100-cover Southport site will include a children’s cinema room and play area, a covered veranda and outdoor seating, along with an open fire pit and a large bar area.
The chain has awarded the contract to fit its Stockport venue to Medlock, having worked with the construction specialist on a previous project.
Southport is the second Hickory venue that Medlock has worked on, following the rebuild of the Wall Heath venue, which suffered severe fire damage in 2016.
Dan Lewis, project director at Medlock, said: “We’re delighted to be delivering a second Hickory’s Smokehouse restaurant and bar, which builds on the relationship we developed through our first project at Wall Heath.
“We have a strong track record in the successful delivery of restaurant and bar projects and look forward to achieving outstanding standards of work again to help the Hickory’s Smokehouse brand continue its UK-wide roll-out.”
Medlock is refurbishing the building internally and externally and is extending it to create a venue with over 100 covers.
