‘Fantastic’ response from industry leaders to Commercial Kitchen location switch

Several industry experts have backed the decision to relocate Commercial Kitchen to London for its ‘biggest edition yet’ next year.

The plan to change location to ExCeL London was announced earlier this month and according to the event organisers, Diversified Communications UK, the decision has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response.

Event manager Katie Tyler said: “We’ve already had a fantastic response to the move from senior end-user buyers, kitchen houses, distributors and installers, who very much see Commercial Kitchen as their industry show…wherever it’s based.

“Their message is clear: it’s the right choice, at the right time, and the industry will continue to support their industry show.”

The move has been backed both by the show’s many association supporters, such as ceda, Foodservice Consultants Society International (show partner), Hospital Caterers Association, National Association of Care Catering and UKHospitality, and by a long list of big name manufacturers and suppliers including UNOX UK, Lincat, Hupfer, Roller Grill (UK), Synergy Grill and Jestic Foodservice Equipment, all of which have already booked space for the 2020 edition.

Among those to praise the move was Wagamama’ executive chef Steven Mangleshot, who said: “Excellent show! It will be even better when it moves to London ExCeL, where it will have even more exposure nationwide.”

Gary Nunn, MD of UNOX UK agreed, saying: “We saw even more top quality buyers at Commercial Kitchen 2019 and did not hesitate to sign up for the next edition.  The London move allows for an even greater diversity of visitors nationwide to attend their industry focused show.”

Another to voice his satisfaction at the news was David Burnett, director at Fulcrum Commercial Kitchens, who said: “I think Commercial Kitchen this year really cemented its place in the industry’s annual calendar.  The move to ExCeL will only add to the standing of this event, attract greater footfall and encourage more exhibitors to sign up.  Long live Commercial Kitchen!”

Paul Taylor, executive chef at Himton Birmingham Metropole added: “The Commercial Kitchen show is an important arena for the industry to see the newest products that influence our kitchens development, I look forward to visiting again at ExCeL next year.”

Commercial Kitchen will open at its new home of ExCeL London on 3-4 June 2020.
