The Multi-Site Kitchen Project House of the Year award acknowledges that standalone items of equipment need to be knitted together with the perfect design to deliver a winning kitchen and that’s the job of a professional kitchen house or distributor.
This accolade applies to those companies that are working with multi-site users to deliver full kitchen projects encompassing everything from design and specification to installation and commissioning.

In a competitive market place, IFSE has demonstrated that innovation and agility make a powerful combination as it has delivered a string of turnkey projects on behalf of contract catering customers and prestigious corporate clients, including British Airways and Vodafone. Its ability to replace the linear and predictable format of traditional B&I catering with purpose-built contemporary spaces equipped with the appropriate cooking and serving platforms has won it rave reviews. The company has been particularly prolific in the education space, where its design experience and ongoing investment in CAD skills have been utilised at institutions such as London Southbank University and King’s College London to create modern foodservice spaces that work for the diner and the caterer.
Lloyd Catering Equipment
Around 85% of Lloyd clients are restaurant groups, working nationwide from its head office where it has invested significantly in its storage facilities and transport fleet to meet the demands of multi-site operators. The company has also refitted its on-site development kitchen with state-of-the-art energy and water monitoring meters, allowing it to carry out more in-depth research on energy efficiency as well as performance of equipment to add even more value to customers. Key projects include a pizza roll-out for a UK pub chain, which started with a comprehensive survey of its kitchen areas and ended with a pizza station consisting of a press, ovens, refrigeration and fabrication being installed at each site.
Restaurant Design Associates
An ability to deliver contemporary kitchen designs has seen RDA gain repeat business from a variety of clients including high street brands, education providers and NHS trusts. It has enjoyed particular success in the cafe and grab-and-go arenas, where its work ranges from helping create the first fully-licensed Costa for WH Smith to delivering new vegan cafe concepts. It was also appointed by Aramark to oversee the first ever Jamie Oliver’s deli in the university sector. The Tyne & Wear-based outfit now has an office in Central London to respond more quickly to clients in the capital, while its new website allows end-users to experience its full range of services and access a bespoke portal to view documents related to their projects.
Fresh investment in experienced sales, service and technical personnel over the past 12 months has strengthened Sprint Group’s planned preventative maintenance offering and led to it creating a more structured service plan for customers. Named as one of Worcestershire’s fastest growing companies for a second successive year in a local business report, the company has gained ISO 14001 accreditation to underscore its commitment to the highest environment and waste management standards. Major project highlights include the work it carried out for The Ivy in both London and Manchester, as well as delivery of Brasserie Blanc’s new Bournemouth site. It has now completed every kitchen install and design for the chain since Leeds in 2008.
Space Group has enhanced its reputation as a true national design and projects house with a string of major schemes that demonstrate its full gamut of services. A £1.5m catering refurbishment at Longleat Safari Park last year reinforced its turnkey pedigree as it provided catering equipment, interiors and manufacturing, while new relationships with a handful of pub clients expanded its presence in the retail sector. Whitbread named Space its ‘Supplier of the Year’ for furniture, fixtures and equipment and catering consumables, endorsing the company’s expertise and strategic importance to its own business. From an innovation perspective, Space invested in virtual reality technology so that customers can truly experience what their kitchens will look like once they are finished.
Vision Commercial Kitchens
Vision Commercial Kitchens has a long history of delivering turnkey projects to the restaurant, hotel, education, care home and garden centre sectors and its reputation has been enhanced further over the past 12 months thanks to a string of spectacular projects, including a landmark international kitchen scheme at a Caribbean resort. From innovative food pods that deliver hot and cold food for school pupils to prestigious retail schemes such as The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at Royal Exchange, Vision has demonstrated that its skill-set can transcend any sector of the market. Meanwhile, its understanding of the unique demands required of suppliers by customers has earned praise from operators such as Leon, which it has delivered multiple kitchens for across numerous locations.
