The winner of the Editor’s Merit Award is Punch Taverns.
Over the course of a year, FEJ meets and report on dozens of companies in the industry and we’re always excited when we come across those that are really passionate about what they do or which are rising to the challenge of being the best that they can be.
Punch Taverns has spent the past 12 months focusing heavily on standardising the equipment offer across its burgeoning estate in a bid to deliver a better customer experience and ensure that sites can easily flex from peak to non-peak periods.
The icing on the cake has been the launch of a state-of-the-art development kitchen and training academy that has radically transformed its approach to menu creation and roll-outs.
Andy Briggs, menu development chef at Punch Taverns (presented with the award by FEJ editorial director Andrew Seymour), said: “We have put a lot of hard work into our new kitchen development. We have undertaken a lot of menu development and training to ensure that our publicans can run their premises smoothly. This is recognition for that hard work – it’s been a long journey.”
