FEJ ZOOM: Ei Group chef and publican on getting his kitchen and food offer ready for the big restart

Chef and publican, Joe Tansley, of The Bell & Cross – a Worcestershire-based pub linked to Ei Publican Partnerships – has shown immense innovation in the face of adversity by successfully adapting the operating model of his business and creating a takeaway offer that has gone down a storm with customers.

In this latest FEJ Zoom chat, (which you can view by clicking the play button above), he spoke to Andrew Seymour about the challenges of creating a new food offer as the industry went into lockdown, the steps he has taken to get the site to a position where it can reopen and the equipment dilemmas he faces as he seeks to juggle dine-in sales with takeaway orders.

He also gives us a quick tour of his ‘Covid-secure’ pub garden ahead of customers being welcomed back, including a sneak peak of an outdoor brick pizza oven being built to support his outside dining plans.
