Former rugby star Phil Vickery – who was part of England’s legendary World Cup-winning side of 2003 – was due to open his first restaurant, in Cheltenham, this week.
But with the pandemic scuppering the launch plans, Mr Vickery has had to rethink the business model of the restaurant – called ‘No.3’ in honour of his shirt number – leading it to roll out a ‘call and collect’ service.
In this latest FEJ Zoom chat, (which you can view by clicking the play button above), the man known to rugby fans as ‘Raging Bull’ discusses why he has finally decided to get into the restaurant sector after resisting it for so long and his ambitions for the business once life gets back to normal.
And as a former winner of Celebrity MasterChef, he also outlines the menu philosophy behind the restaurant and how he intends to instil some of the qualities that brought him success on the pitch in the kitchen.
