FEM chain account stalwart returns in Carpigiani role

Steve McHugh, national account manager

Former FEM chain account stalwart Steve McHugh has joined up with Carpigiani, the ice cream and gelato equipment manufacturer.

Mr McHugh left FEM in August after more than 20 years with the business, where he oversaw relationships with brands such as Mitchells & Butlers, Greene King, Marston’s, Costa, Greggs, McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King and Pizza Hut.

He will serve as national account manager at Carpigiani, focusing on supplying ice cream equipment to multi-site operators.

Paul Ingram, managing director at Carpigiani UK, said: “Steve joins us at a really exciting time for Carpigiani. After 12 months of uncertainty, we have big plans for our business, and Steve’s expertise is going to be invaluable to us as we roll out new initiatives and continue to offer outstanding customer service and support to the industry.”

Mr McHugh said he is looking forward to getting stuck into the new role, particularly with the industry on the cusp of reopening.

“I’m really thrilled to join Carpigiani and get started with the products. I’ve been impressed with their ‘can do’ attitude and I’m excited to grow our presence in the foodservice channel and generate new opportunities for premium soft serve and gelato.”
