GIVING IT THE BEANS: 5 top commercial coffee machines to drive up your beverage profits

Crem Diamant Pro

There has been no slowdown in coffee machine innovation as manufacturers have risen to the challenge of creating systems capable of meeting the beverage needs of all types of catering operations. FEJ takes a look at some of the best pieces of kit available on the market right now.

La Cimbali M34

The La Cimbali M34, available through Taylor UK, couples a chic, classic automotive aesthetic with energy efficiency and market-leading technology. There are two espresso models in the M34 range, the twin headed DT2, and the triple group headed DT3. Central to the quality of the coffee they produce is the Perfect Grinding System (PGS), which ensures that standards never drop.

With the grinder-doser connected to the machine by bluetooth, there is constant control of the coffee-dispensing parameters. This makes it possible to monitor extraction and delivery of coffee grind — and remotely adjust the grinder-doser where necessary — making manual corrections a thing of the past.

Innovation

Both La Cimbali M34 models are equipped with four dosing selections and a continuous delivery option. A graphic display is paired with a simple push button auto panel to make operating the machine a breeze. The M34 range offers a fresh dimension of eco-friendly day-to-day operation with its insulated smart boiler and energy-saving mode.

At the touch of a button, the boiler pressure is reduced to a value of 0.2 bar during periods of downtime and the machine can be placed on standby. When demand for drinks increases again, it takes just 60 to 90 seconds for the boiler to return to full pressure.

Crem Diamant Pro

The Diamant Pro is the first premium espresso machine that Crem has launched since integrating with Welbilt. It developed the Diamant Pro under the ethos ‘smarter, stronger and better’ with the aim of creating a unit that balances state-of-the art technology with espresso tradition.

The Diamant Pro features various modes which ease coffee making, such as storing recipes onto the machine. This means that when it comes to creating a perfect coffee, a barista simply needs to select the desired coffee and press the activation button.

Innovation

Through the use of Crem TechTM technology, Diamant Pro operators are able to efficiently control various coffee machine functions, such as extraction time, temperature and dosage, by the touch of the screen. A reinforced hydraulic system also allows for a supreme cup of coffee to be created while a SmartSteam system automatically froths exceptional micro-foamed milk with unlimited calibration possibilities.

Cafitesse Excellence Touch

Jacobs Douwe Egberts has endeavoured to respond to clear consumer trends with the launch of two new Cafitesse Excellence Touch coffee machines. The machines boast groundbreaking touchscreen technology, which means consumers can now quickly and easily choose from a wide range of coffee-shop style drinks, and more importantly adapt the strength and volume of their chosen coffees to perfectly match their tastes, simply with the swipe of a finger.

Creating a cup of black coffee in only six seconds and a cappuccino inside just 12 seconds, the Cafitesse Excellence Touch can brew up to 600 cups per hour, keeping queues to a minimum and satisfying customers’ coffee needs in an efficient and convenient way.

Innovation

Self-service equipment is a great addition for speed of service and gives consumers the opportunity to personalise and take control of their beverage order. JDE insists the Cafitesse System is a great alternative to bulk brew coffee machines, high volume bean to cup machines, or three-pint filter machines.

The Cafitesse system is suited for any location where speed, quality and customer experience are key. The option to personalise coffee can be turned on or off to maintain control and limit choice where appropriate.

Fracino Romano

With an increasing number of clients specifying bespoke finishes to complement the decor and ambience of their hospitality venues, Fracino is offering an even wider choice of highly polished colour finishes and texture effects. The company has attempted to draw on its expertise to cater for individuality, whether to enhance a theme or interior design, promote a brand or challenge convention.

Innovation

Fracino’s Romano with 2 and 3 coffee making groups features a deluxe finish. Designed to transform the purely functional into what the company calls an “enviable work of art”, it boasts a mirror finish while its lustrous colours aim to draw out the beauty of the highly polished stainless steel. An extensive range of dramatic solid colours in a satin or matt finish will complement and enrich any interior design palette to reflect a venue’s individuality.

UCC Coffee Black&White4

The Black&White4 super automatic coffee machine has been developed specifically for high volume operators that want to deliver consistent quality coffee at scale. The company worked with Swiss espresso experts Thermoplan to bring to market a next-generation machine that offers precision, performance and power in a bid to raise the bar for high street coffee quality.

The product comes with ThermoConnect, an advanced telemetry system with complete estate management and performance visibility, as well as ThermoCycle, which purports to prepare drinks up to 20% faster than previous versions of the machine.

Innovation

The Black&White4 has 10 new unique patented features designed to enhance coffee quality and provide a seamless experience for high street operators. These include ThermoShot, which promises unrivalled extraction consistency, and ThermoFoam, creating perfect milk taste, texture and temperature.
