“This is an entirely new industry for me, which is really exciting,” she said. “Filta has many high profile and respected clients and there is so much potential to drive the business and organisation further.

“One of the key elements of my role is ensuring our engineers have the right skill sets to carry out jobs successfully and that we can get the right person to the right job at the right time, meeting often frequent tight deadlines. There’s nothing more satisfying than delivering a high quality service to the multitude of customers on a daily basis.”

Mrs Sutton, who was born and grew up in Belfast, started her career on National Grid’s Graduate Scheme, where she worked for 16 years, the last four in the high pressure role of emergency network manager for West Midlands Gas Distribution Network.

She then moved to the role of head of service operations at Connect Distribution Services, where she was responsible for the delivery of a nationwide white goods repair service for clients including Dixons, Domestic and General, Panasonic, Co-op and Rangemaster.

Before joining Filta, she was responsible for human resources, health and safety and supply chain at UK Power Reserve.

Filta’s managing director, Edward Palin, said: “Julie has many years of expertise in operations and managing large teams across a wide geographic area, so she is a perfect fit for Filta. We have grown exponentially as a company and her skills and know-how will be absolutely invaluable in taking Filta into the next era.”
