Hobart salutes key accounts chief for racking up 40 years of service

Hobart has paid tribute to government and key accounts manager, David Grundy, who has just reached 40 years of service at the catering equipment giant.

Grundy began his Hobart career in the Nottingham branch in December 1977 as a catering specialist. He has held 10 different roles during his four decades at the company.

A constant theme throughout those years has been his dedication to the government sector of the business, reflected in his current role as government and key account manager for the company’s Cooking Solutions division.

Mr Grundy said: “I can’t quite believe I’m marking 40 years at Hobart – the time has absolutely flown by and I simply can’t imagine working anywhere else.

“The government sector is a really rewarding place to work and I’ve been lucky enough to meet and work with some fantastic people during my time here, many of whom I now count as friends as well as colleagues.”

During his career at Hobart, Grundy has also worked  in the warewash and service divisions and has been involved in all aspects of the business, including the company cricket team.

  1. well what can I say he is classed as fixtures and fittings now. I worked with Dave many years ago. Life and soul of the party, never a dull moment with Dave but an absolute gentleman.

  2. David and I first met when I was a second year student at High Peak College and David was a first year, 1969!!
    Our paths have crossed so many times and he was instrumental in getting me an interview with Hobart in 1979.
    As John said life and soul of the party and we had some very good times. Always a smile good advice and I have never, ever heard a bad word about this true giant and unsung treasure of our industry, well done David and keep in touch, Adrian
