There is just a week to go until the 41st edition of the HOST Milan show kicks off – and organisers insist this year’s event is ‘sold out’ with more than 2,100 exhibitors set to take part.
HOST has increasingly attracted an international audience as the show has evolved and this year is no different as it gets set to welcome catering equipment suppliers from 50 countries.
The five-day affair will feature everything from bread, pizza and gelato championships to cooking demos starring decorated chefs and master-classes on training, sustainability and sales techniques.
State-of-the-art innovation and cutting-edge design are expected to be prominent themes at the show, with the organisers once again naming the winners of their ‘Smart Label’ innovation awards and honouring products expected to shape the professional hospitality in the future.
A seven-member international jury of university professors and industry experts with experience in design, hospitality and energy saving will be voting on almost 50 companies that have been shortlisted from more than 200 entries. They will assess each finalist in terms of efficiency, innovation, usability and features.
Elsewhere, the FCSI will be delivering presentations, workshops and roundtables on an array of topics, spanning from consulting and use of social media tools to business opportunities in new markets and the green economy.
Meanwhile, APCI, the Professional Association of Italian Chefs, will welcome a string of top chefs to the stage to share cooking advice and host tastings, while FIC, the Italian Chefs Federation, has worked with its technical partners to create a ‘designer kitchen’ that will host cooking demonstrations, videos and roundtables.
