One of London’s most iconic hotels is set to auction off a range of commercial kitchen equipment ahead of a major renovation project.
The Westbury London, which opened in 1955 and became the first 5-star American hotel in London, is set to put 8,000 items under the hammer.
There are more than 330 items of catering equipment for sale, including combi ovens, refrigeration cabinets, passthrough dishwashers and ice machines.
Minimum opening bids are provided for each piece of kit.
As well as all equipment from its kitchens, the hotel will sell selling off an array of luxury fittings, bedroom furniture and authentic artwork.
The auction, which is being organised by Pro Auction, will take place over a three-day period at the start of June.
Simon Rose of Pro Auction said: “This unprecedented renovation project for the hotel brings with it the opportunity to purchase a piece of the hotel’s history at auction as the owners pave the way for a new chapter for The Westbury.”
Online bidding will also be available via a live webcast.
