Imperial faces change to UK distribution after Middleby takeover

Imperial Commercial Cooking Equipment 2

Middleby UK said today that it will start selling cooking equipment from Imperial, marking a shift in the latter brand’s long-term distribution model in the UK.

Imperial equipment has been made available to the UK market through Gamble Foodservice Solutions over many years, but in September the Middleby Corporation agreed a deal to acquire the Californian brand.

Middleby UK said it would now distribute Imperial in the way that it does for many other Middleby brands that are present in the UK, including Pitco, Josper, MagiKitch’n and Carter Hoffmann.

Chris Jones, group president for Middleby Worldwide – Europe said: “We are excited to take Imperial to the next level, not only in the UK, but across Europe. Everything about the Imperial range complements our existing Middleby brand portfolio and this brand is another strong link to gain us traction across the industry.”

Imperial manufactures ranges, fryers, ovens, countertop equipment and other specialty cooking products for commercial kitchens.

It generates global annual revenues of approximately $40m (£29m).
