Online catering equipment supplier eCatering is now under new ownership, it has been confirmed.
The brand’s parent company, RG Distributors, was taken over by Teeside-based management consultancy firm Headway Point at the end of last year.
Cumbria-based RG Distributors has two warehouses which total 20,000 square feet and specialises in supplying commercial catering equipment through the internet.
Headway Point founder Duncan Evershed is aiming to grow the combined business to more than £10m over the next five years following the acquisition.
He said: “Supplying catering equipment using an online platform is a new venture for me, but I can see huge potential. The business is well-structured and has a great model that can be further improved to enable growth.”
Mr Evershed worked with accounting firm Anderson Barrowcliff to negotiate and structure the deal, as well as secure the necessary funding to provide stability while he attempts to grow the business.
Plans are afoot to create a local office that can house the Headway Point and eCatering teams. At the moment, both are co-working via a virtual office.
Headway Point was established eight years ago to invest in the growth of small-to-medium-sized businesses.
On its website, eCatering lists the NHS, Emirates, Subway, Holiday Inn and Nando’s among the customers it has supplied equipment to.
It states that one of its biggest strengths is keeping around 95% of stock of all its lines, insisting that it is able to keep its prices low by dealing directly with manufacturers.
