Restaurant concepts operated by TV chef Jamie Oliver, such as Jamie Oliver’s Diner and Jamie’s Deli, could become a common sight in office catering environments following a landmark deal with Aramark.
The Jamie Oliver Group and contract caterer have struck a 10-year agreement that will see them work together on an exclusive basis to enhance food concepts and delivery in workplaces.
The partnership, which covers the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, will enable Aramark to introduce social dining experiences to client sites, as well as to develop exclusive concepts for customers.
The firm, which employs 16,000 staff, currently has catering contracts in the business, education, healthcare, manufacturing and defence sectors throughout the UK.
Aramark said it will work with the Jamie Oliver Group to positively impact the way food services are delivered, encouraging a “nutritional revolution” across the UK and Ireland by focusing on innovative culinary developments and exceptional staff training.
The new partnership will help the brand expand its presence further with dining concepts in Aramark managed retail and office environments.
Frank Gleeson, Aramark’s president for Northern Europe said: “We are passionate about the health and well-being of those we serve every day so it was a natural fit for us to partner with Jamie Oliver. Together, we have an opportunity to create innovative culinary experiences that will revolutionise productivity and health in workplaces throughout Northern Europe.
“We serve hundreds of thousands of people in workplaces, schools and colleges every day, so we have a fantastic opportunity of working together where we can set the agenda for health and nutrition and have a real and lasting impact on people’s lives.”
Jon Knight, CEO of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, said Aramark’s mission of enriching and nourishing lives resonated with its own values.
“We have seen how that mission is given life throughout the company every day and in particular how Aramark extends this beyond providing a consistently high quality food offering but in introducing wellbeing programmes in client sites. We look forward to working with Aramark and exploring opportunities to establish fully branded retail restaurants in multi-tenanted office and retail environments managed by Aramark.”
The alliance creates an opportunity to introduce high street branded concepts such as Jamie Oliver’s Diner and Jamie’s Deli into Aramark client sites, complementing its existing proprietary brands and rotational concepts. In addition, the Jamie Oliver Group’s design and culinary teams will work with Aramark’s culinary team to develop food concepts exclusive to Aramark.
The Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group was established in 2008 and operates a number of brands in the restaurant sector including Jamie’s Deli, Jamie Oliver’s Diner, Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria and Jamie’s Italian.
