Jestic backs newest generation of equipment to solve biggest kitchen hurdles

Mibrasa

Jestic Foodservice Solutions believes current challenges around space and labour mean that cutting-edge equipment will have an even more important role to play in future kitchen design after returning as the sponsor of the Operator of the Year for Equipment Innovation category at the FEJ Awards.

The Kent-based supplier, which serves as the UK distributor for prestigious brands such as Henny Penny, Mibrasa, MKN, Rosinox, Sveba Dahlen and Wood Stone, is at the forefront of bringing pioneering foodservice equipment to market.

And sales director Steve Morris believes the current generation of equipment is more than capable of stepping up to the plate as operators seek solutions to new problems.

“The staffing shortage the hospitality industry is experiencing puts more emphasis on equipment which is easy to use for less skilled staff and which offers network connectivity so operators are able to monitor and control appliances remotely to ensure the quality and consistency of their offerings.

“Optimising space in commercial kitchens remains an ongoing challenge, but technological advances have produced a generation of multifunction appliances like the MKN SpaceCombi which enable operators to produce more from a smaller footprint.”

Mr Morris said Jestic was seeing operators continuing to invest in innovative equipment to meet a variety of longstanding and more recent challenges.

“Sustainability and energy efficiency remains a key driver of equipment innovation and operators are understandably looking to invest in equipment which will help control energy costs, whilst reducing any environmental impacts. A move towards more energy efficient electric models and away from gas powered appliances is just one of the trends in this area.

“Customers are increasingly demanding speedy service times as the grab and go sector continues to boom – so developments with high speed ovens which combine multiple cooking technologies like the XpressChef range are helping operators to cook fantastic food in a fraction of the time.”

After the most challenging 18 months that the industry has ever encountered, the FEJ Awards will celebrate the businesses and individuals that have innovated and adapted in the face of adversity.

“As a leading distributor of quality catering equipment, Jestic is at the forefront of bringing the latest, pioneering catering equipment to market. We work very closely with many of the national high street chains, groups and franchises, to develop exciting new concepts using innovative equipment, to achieve standout USPs and deliver exceptional menus.

“As such, we are delighted to be supporting the Equipment Innovation category at the FEJ Awards – and in doing so, helping to do our bit to celebrate the very best from across foodservice.”
