Jestic Foodservice Solutions has been named as the official supplier of Mibrasa charcoal ovens in the UK.
The tie-up, which officially began yesterday, will see Jestic market the Spanish-manufactured ovens and grills to customers in the UK.
Jestic is well-versed in the charcoal oven market having formerly represented Josper for a number of years. It is not clear what Josper’s route to market in the UK will now be, however it was acquired by Middleby Corporation two years ago so it appears likely that it will use Middleby’s existing channels in the UK.
Jestic had been putting Mibrasa’s equipment through its paces as its Kent test kitchen prior to formalising the agreement and said the kit cruised through every trial it conducted.
Sales director Steve Morris said: “We have been aware of Mibrasa equipment for many years, and after recent extensive product testing in our development kitchen, we are absolutely delighted to be able to announce this new partnership.
“The ovens and grills did not just meet our expectations but exceeded them every time, passing every trial we ran with flying colours. Consequently, to continue to offer our customers what we believe to be the absolute best brands and equipment at the best prices, we had a difficult decision to take.
“As we continued our conversations, we were left in no doubt that bringing the Mibrasa brand into our portfolio was right for both Jestic and our customers.
In addition to charcoal ovens, Mibrasa also manufactures Parilla grills, as well as Robatayaki and Hibachi mobile grills.
Pere Hernandez, managing director of Mibrasa, said: “Jestic Foodservice Solutions is renowned in the industry for only supplying the highest quality brands and equipment and we are therefore delighted that they have agreed to partner with Mibrasa.
“We believe that this partnership is absolutely perfect for both Jestic and Mibrasa and we look forward to working with the team in Paddock Wood over the coming years to develop the brand further in the UK.”
