Catering equipment manufacturer Lincat is expanding into refrigeration with its own range of branded products.
The equipment will be supplied into the UK via Middleby-owned sister brand Desmon and badged as ‘Lincat Blu°’.
Lincat confirmed yesterday that the first products made available through the range would be “competitively-priced” refrigerated chef bases, but it is understood that more types of refrigeration will be unveiled later this year.
The chef bases allow easy access to stored, chilled food at the point of cooking and are designed to accommodate Lincat’s heavy duty Opus 800 series equipment such as chargrills, griddles and induction hobs.
The drawers are capable of holding 1/1 GN 100mm-deep containers, providing convenient bulk storage for meat and fish.
Helen Applewhite, marketing manager at Lincat, said the company had decided to branch into refrigeration after requests from customers.
“In busy kitchens where speed is crucial, caterers need quick and easy access to food at the point of cooking. The new Blu° range of refrigerated chef bases provides the ideal solution. The range has been developed following demand from our dealers’ customers for reliable, high-quality and heavy-duty chef bases, so we’re confident they will be a success.”
The Blu° chef bases are powered by a three-pin plug and are available in widths of 800mm, 900mm and 1200mm.
For ease of cleaning, the units have removable drawers, rounded interior corners and removable rubber magnetic door gaskets. A two-year warranty is provided as standard.
