Lord’s Cricket Ground is planning to overhaul its catering infrastructure by installing new kitchens later this year.
The world-famous sporting venue will also modernise its food and drinks preparation areas across three levels, in the new Compton and Edrich stands.
Devon-based catering equipment firm GS Group will begin supplying and fitting out the new kitchens and bars at the London site from November of this year, with completion of the entire project scheduled for April 2021.
Although lockdown has prevented GS Group meeting with the Lord’s team in person, communications have taken place over Zoom.
The contract, which was won by the firm under competitive tender, is the seventh awarded to it during the lockdown period, despite reduced staffing levels.
GS Group managing director, Graham Massey, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to such a prestigious venue and to have seen such a busy period, despite the unprecedented circumstances.
