Loungers and Five Guys set for kitchen projects in Manchester

Potwash makeover

Loungers and Five Guys have joined the line-up at the recently-launched University Green, which forms part of The University of Manchester £1 billion Campus Masterplan and redevelopment.

Informal restaurant and bar chain, Loungers, will occupy a 3,175 sq ft unit at the site. It will have space for 120 covers and include the chain’s eccentric use of reclaimed antique furniture and fittings.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this landmark new development and sit alongside a growing line-up of brilliant brands,” said Justin Carter, COO of Loungers. “Loungers will provide a comfortable space for everyone, be it a family lunch, student study space or alternatively, a place to let their hair down in the evenings.”

Meanwhile, American burger brand, Five Guys, will open a 3,175 sq ft ground floor restaurant, its first in the Corridor Manchester innovation district.

Designed by Blacksheep, the restaurant will reflect the brand’s iconic red and white branding, with space for more than 88 covers.

All sites are due to open in summer 2018, shortly after completion of the scheme.
