MARKET TALK: Moving Cafe Spice Namaste, kitchen considerations and microwave magic

The first episode of Market Talk for 2021 begins with a bang as we catch up with acclaimed chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE and high-speed cooking equipment expert Iain Phillips.

Mr Todiwala is the face behind award-winning restaurant Cafe Spice Namaste, near the Tower of London. After 25 glorious years, the location of the restaurant will be moving in the coming weeks and Mr Todiwala outlines how the preparations are coming along and the unique kitchen challenges he faces.

He also discusses the difference that his ZestQuest Asia initiative is making to those that have chosen a culinary career path and details how the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic have impacted his work and life.

Meanwhile, Iain Phillips took over as deputy managing director of Regale Microwave Ovens just weeks before the country was plunged into lockdown last March. He reflects on what that experience was like and highlights how Regale’s business model and stockholding strategy have ensured it can fulfil customers’ needs at short notice.

Mr Phillips also sheds light on the significance of Winia – a new brand that Regale is distributing in the UK but which has its links to another very famous microwave brand that many chefs will have heard of.
