MARKET TALK: Tender pipelines, repair versus replace and long-term kitchen modelling

In this week’s episode of Market Talk, Steve Elliott, sales director at Valentine Equipment and Paul Gilhooly, sales director at Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment, join us to discuss the latest developments impacting their businesses and the industry.

Mr Elliott outlines how the high-end fryer maker has been adapting to greater levels of remote working and shares his thoughts on whether a growing ‘mend and make-do’ approach among operators could threaten new equipment sales. He also clarifies what Brexit might mean for the business given its fryers are built in Switzerland – which is not a member of the EU.

Meanwhile, Mr Gilhooly reveals some of the key trends he sees shaping kitchen design and expands on the work that the distributor is doing with large operators such as Whitbread. He gives his views on projects, maintenance and customer engagement in a Covid world.
