Marston’s locks down Foster contract for another five years

Marston’s has extended its policy of agreeing long-term equipment deals with key suppliers by tying up a five-year contract with Foster.

The pub chain, which has also recently signed multi-year terms with cooking equipment supplier Lincat and display manufacturer Victor, will continue buying Foster refrigeration until at least 2024.

It has worked with the King’s Lynn-based outfit since 2013, sourcing back-of-house and front-of-house refrigeration solutions including storage cabinets, counters and Coldrooms for its pubs.

Andy Kershaw, group head of facilities and capex for Marston’s, said: “We are really pleased to be extending our contract with Foster. We have been working directly with them since 2013, so to commit to another five years is testament to their knowledge and expertise in our industry.”

Marston’s operates an estate of around 1,500 pubs nationally, comprising managed, franchised and leased pubs. It employs around 13,000 people.

Dan Pratt, national account manager at Foster and Gamko, said: “This commitment from Marston’s allows us to continue to strengthen our relationship and work together on future innovation and supply performance. In uncertain times, we’re proud to offer supply stability to our customers.”
