McDonald’s restaurants in the UK are unable to serve milkshakes after the fast food giant became the latest to be hit by the supply chain struggle.
The burger chain said it was ‘working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible’, which also includes the sale of bottled drinks at around 1,250 locations in Britain.
A spokesman said: “Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products. Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.
“We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience.”
Last week, chicken restaurant chain Nando’s was forced to close around 50 of its 360 UK and Ireland branches and restrict orders on Deliveroo after experiencing a nationwide chicken shortage.
Rival brand KFC was also impacted by the same issue, following ‘disruption’ to deliveries.
