Mechline’s UK-manufactured foodservice system now installed in over 20 countries

UK supplier Mechline’s HyGenikx air and surface sanitisation system is gaining rapid international acclaim, with the company receiving orders from 21 countries since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

HyGenikx was developed before Covid-19, but with the technology in the wall-mounted system proven to kill bacteria and viruses, including coronaviruses, it has proven popular with restaurants looking to make their operations safe.

Overseas sales of the product are up 94% on the same period last year, according to the company.

The appliance is now being used by operators in a raft of European countries, as well as the USA, Singapore, Botswana and Mauritius.

The HyGenikx range has models to suit every application, from food preparation areas, cold rooms, and front-of-house, to washrooms, refuse areas and larger occupied areas.

Kristian Roberts, marketing manager at Mechline, said: “Clearly, we would prefer it if the world did not have to deal with the devastating effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, but it’s heartening to know that our HyGenikx technology, which is manufactured here in the UK, is helping to protect and reassure people all over the world in venues including commercial kitchens, hotels, hospitals and offices.”

The HyGenikx system utilises a combination of the most effective air and surface sterilisation technologies available, which are proven to target and kill biological hazards and other primary sources of infections.

The HyGenikx range is also proven to eliminate odours and extend the shelf-life of stored perishable fresh food by an average of 58%, with some produce proving to last as much as 150% longer.

The units require no costly installation or training to use as they simply plug into a standard socket.
