Merrychef’s latest eikon oven targets operators seeking a rapid hot food solution

Welbilt UK has begun the year with a bang by launching the Merrychef eikon e1s, the latest incarnation of the brand’s flagship high-speed oven.

The single counter-top high-speed oven styled for front-of-house is ideal for businesses looking to add a hot food option to their operation.

And it opens up a world of new menu opportunities thanks to its combination of three heat technologies: convection, tuned impingement and microwave, which Welbilt claims allows for cooking times up to 10 times faster than conventional ovens.

It says a bagel can be cooked in 30 seconds, a chicken panini in 50 seconds or a pizza in 140 seconds, giving users a quick way to cook, reheat, toast and bake a wide range of fresh or frozen food items to expand menus at the touch of a button.

The oven features Merrychef’s easyTouch technology with an icon driven touch screen, allowing staff of any skill level to produce professional food results without the need for excessive training.

The Merrychef eikon is easy to install and can be used with a standard domestic 3-pin plug. In addition, no water connection, drain or hood is required and the unit has a built in catalytic convertor for fully ventless cooking.

Its ‘cool to the touch’ exterior means it can be situated in a tight gap without the need for additional space on the sides or back of the unit.
