IMC and Britannia are to get a new managing director after Steve Witt confirmed that this is his final week in charge of both businesses.
Middleby Corporation, which owns both brands, said it would make an announcement on Mr Witt’s successor “in due course”.
Mr Witt joined IMC in 2001 as a design engineer before managing the company’s service and engineering departments.
After assuming responsibility for the management and growth of IMC’s OEM business he was promoted to technical director following IMC’s sales to Middleby in 2011.
He was subsequently appointed managing director of IMC in 2013 and, after reviving the fortunes of the Wrexham-based manufacturer of backbar refrigeration and waste management systems, assumed the same role with Britannia Kitchen Ventilation in 2016.
“After 17 fantastic years it is time to move on to new challenges,” he saidt. “I have enjoyed my time at IMC and Britannia immensely and would like to thank the current management team who I am sure will continue to drive the business forward. I have been exceptionally lucky to manage such a great team and to work with some truly passionate people. It would also be remiss of me not to thank the previous MD of IMC, along with Middleby Corporation, for the opportunities afforded me.
“I would also like to thank CESA, as well as friends and colleagues from throughout the catering equipment industry, for all the support I have received from them over the past 17 years.”
