Steak restaurant Miller & Carter has ramped up its plans for growth and its owners intend to bring the brand to around 100 sites by the end of the year.
The brand is now the main point of focus for Mitchells & Butlers which has dramatically revised its growth plans compared to last May, when it said it was targeting 100 Miller & Carter sites by the end of 2018.
There are currently 67 Miller & Carter sites and in its latest financial report the owner indicated that there is potential for even more openings beyond the 100 mark.
Many of these restaurants will come from conversions of current sites. The group has already converted 172 of its sites this year and it said investing in Miller & Carter conversions “perform particularly well“.
Last year, Mitchell & Butlers accelerated its capital programme and this year, in spite of cost pressures squeezing margins, is looking to once again boost growth in the challenging market.
