MKN has launched an interactive kitchen configurator tool that it claims can cut up to three weeks from the typical design process.
The company said that for the first time dealers and end-users can work collaboratively and in real-time to develop kitchen designs using MKN’s modular and bespoke professional cooking solutions.
Using domestic-style ‘drag and drop’ functionality, MKN’s sales team can work live with project teams to draw up 3D designs, adding MKN products and changing configuration in seconds to suit requirements.
The new MKN DigitalKitchen software can produce budgets, visuals, CAD drawings, electrical drawings and specification lists all at the touch of a button, with user-defined visibility and the option to download details drawings via PDF or CAD drawing.
End-users can also view and share a 3D plan of the kitchen design via QR code, ensuring everybody in the business can have easy access to initial designs.
Wayne Bennett, VP sales and marketing UK and Ireland for MKN, said: “This is a unique tool in the market that fast tracks the design process and takes out a huge chunk of work for our distributor partners and their end-user customers.
“We can sit down together either in a room or online and design an MKN kitchen in real time, before providing all the resources needed to share and approve that design.”
Mr Bennett said the configurator would speed up deadlines, gives customers the ability to interact with their own design process and achieve a better representation of their kitchen than they could with a traditional 2D drawing.
“The initial feedback has been fantastic and we’re saving up to three weeks in a typical design process by eliminating the need to go back and forth with changes,” he said.
