Pret A Manger has appointed Just Eat’s Barnaby Dawe as chief customer officer, a newly-created role.
Taking affect from October 1, Dawe will oversee all global marketing and communications activity and will lead Pret’s growing e-commerce business.
Dawe has held senior positions at Sky, Heart and Channel 4 before joining Just Eat in 2015.
Clive Schlee, CEO of Pret, said: “I am delighted Barnaby is joining the senior team at Pret. He has the sensitivity and the experience to maintain continuity in Pret’s tone of voice whilst at the same time leading the company’s digital transformation. We look forward to working with him very much.”
As global chief marketing officer at the food delivery platform, he helped triple revenues and profit and was consequently named marketing leader of the year by the Marketing Society in 2017.
Dawe said: “As a loyal customer, I’ve long admired Pret for their coherent brand strategy and their outstanding customer service. I’m honoured to join the team and be a part of the next phase of their journey.”
The announcement comes just over a month after the chain changed hands for a reported £1.5 billion.
