Rational ovens now controllable through iPhones

Rational has launched ‘Rational Remote’, an app which enables users to monitor their SelfCookingCenter ovens remotely from an iPhone or iPad.

Both the SelfCookingCenter and the iPhone or iPad need to be connected to the same home network for the app to work.

The screen content of the SelfCookingCentre is then transferred and displayed in full allowing the user to have direct control of the SelfCookingCenter remotely.closeup hand hold smartphone mobile isolated on white

“Flexibility and independence are becoming increasingly important in the kitchen,” stated Lee Norton, managing director of Rational UK. “The new app can help with this. Take for example to head chef, who is writing his weekly menu or placing orders and at the same time staying connected with the SelfCookingCentre,”

For owners of multiple units, this can also be grouped and named according to the relevant location, such as ‘preparation kitchen appliance’. This provides an easy way to keep a general view, even in larger kitchens, the company says.

The app, which is designed to be used with units built after September 2011, is available to download free from the App Store.
