A commercial oven brand specified by both Aldi and Lidl’s bakery divisions across Europe is coming to the UK market.
Germany-based Debag, which manufactures bakery deck and electric convection ovens, has struck a local distribution deal with Euro Catering to make its products available in the UK.
Debag equipment is widely used by supermarket giants Aldi and Lidl, and because of its design credentials the ovens tend to be placed front-of-house.
Euro Catering, which also represents brands such as Anets, Bakers Pride, Giorik and Palux, said it intends to make the brand one of the “cornerstones” of its go-to-market strategy.
The Leicestershire-based company believes the equipment is ideal for a wide range of operators, including professional and artisan bakers, convenience stores and casual dining eateries.
Debag has more than 100 years’ experience in delivering dedicated equipment for bakers. Its ovens are designed to maximise the use of the baking surface, deliver the best possible use of energy and create perfect internal chamber baking conditions that guarantee consistency for multi-site operators.
“This is a brand used by both Aldi and Lidl’s bakery divisions across Europe and placed front-of-house, because of the stylish design credentials that accompany the technical prowess of each oven,” explained Euro Catering’s sales director Justin Towns.
Euro Catering has three heavy-duty Debag ovens in its catalogue: the Debag Helios 4060 electric bakery deck oven; the Debag Dila 5 5 rack electric convection oven and the Debag Dila 10+5 stacked electric convection ovens. Together these address all needs within the bake-off and artisan bakery sectors, it claims.
All Debag ovens are stackable and the end-user can choose to combine a bakery deck oven with an electric convection oven to offer a wider menu than solely bake-off or artisan-baked items.
The ovens feature an optional wash system that minimises water use and utilises a bio-degradable cleaning agent lasting for up to 40 washes. Manual or programmable controls are available, according to how hi-tech the baker wishes to be. “Introducing the Debag range to the UK is an exciting development for us,” added Mr Towns.
