High street chain Pizza Express has signed a multimillion pound agreement to ensure its kitchen equipment and barware needs are taken care of for the next three years.
The company has inked a £4.5m supply deal with 3663 Catering Equipment that will see the Bidvest 3663-owned outfit provide non-food items to Pizza Express restaurants in the UK and China.
3663 Catering Equipment will supply cooking appliances, cookware, back-of-house equipment, barware and uniforms to the chain when the contract commences in July 2015. The deal will run until December 2018.
The agreement comes as Pizza Express’ owner, Hony Capital, seeks to expand the chain in the UK and China after acquiring it from the Gondola Group last year.
Paul Knight, director of 3663 Catering Equipment and non-food, said the partnership builds on a successful relationship that the two companies have had for the past five years.
“We understand how crucial product innovation, reliability and excellent service is for our customers and have a proven track record of supporting unit expansion in the fast casual dining segment,” he said.
“We are pleased that Hony Capital felt we have a good fit with its growth plans for Pizza Express in the UK and China. This contract win is testament to our commitment to making our customers’ lives easier and we’re looking forward to helping to maintain the iconic brand identity of Pizza Express in the UK and China.”
