Pod reinforces leadership team as it guns for growth

Healthy eating chain Pod has restructured its senior management team, including the appointment of a new food director, as it prepares for the next phase of its growth.

The changes at the healthy fast food chain follow the promotion of finance director Tim Bartram to managing director last summer, shortly after ex-Nabisco and Pepsi man John Postlethwaite was brought on as chairman.

Bartram has spent the last six months developing a leadership team to support the growth plans he has for the business.

With innovative food development remaining central to the brand, Sean Burlinson, formerly of Baxter Storey and Harris & Hoole, has joined the team in the new role of food director, while Jovan Perovic, who has 11 years of sector experience, has been hired as operations director. Marketing director Meg Ellis has been promoted to the role of commercial director.

Plans for 2016 include expansion of the 22-strong estate, growing partnerships and a continued focus on using customer insight to drive strong, organic like-for-like growth.

Bartram said: “This is a great time to be in the fresh and healthy food to go sector, with plenty of competitive challenge and equal amounts of opportunity. I am proud to be developing such an exciting brand with my team.”

From being one of the first food-to-go brands to deliver take away porridge back in 2005 when it was founded, and finding a way to serve freshly scrambled ‘takeaway’ eggs back in 2006, Pod has pioneered food development, translating food trends and bringing them to thousands of hungry Londoners ever since.
