Ei Group has really upped its focus on the food side of its business since naming Paul Farr as its first-ever head of food.
The former Spirit Pub Company and Wyevale Garden Centres man has brought a more structured food strategy to the organisation, as evidenced by the development of a concept to help publicans tap into the public’s growing demand for good quality pizza.
The company now offers a comprehensive package that includes a range of different kitchen plans to fit the requirements and restrictions of the 4,500 pubs that sit under its umbrella.
“We have focused on identifying key trends across the eating out market and supporting our publicans with simple offers that tap into them and drive sales,” explains Paul.
“A great pizza is only as good as its ingredients, the oven and skills used to cook it, so we’ve brought in some fantastic products and created a range of different kitchen layouts and flows, to ensure the best quality and an easy-to-make product every time.”
One of the big challenges for pubs, particularly those without an existing catering offering, is how to pick the right equipment, but the Ei package takes care of that dilemma by specifying the precise oven they will need based on volume requirements.
