While other operators targeting similar demographics have been forced to review their offers and realign their portfolios in the wake of the difficulties that have blighted the market, Nando’s remains a case study for how to harness a winning proposition and inspire fierce customer loyalty.
Consistency is a theme that runs strongly through the business and that goes as much for its back-of-house operations as its marketing and customer engagement.

Rob originally joined the company back in 1998 as an area MD, before landing the operations director mantle as it embarked on rapid expansion.
He has spent the last nine years as managing director for the UK and Ireland, guiding the chain to annual sales in excess of £700m.
With overall group sales up to £970m at the last count, Nando’s is more than likely to be able to call itself a billion pound company when its next accounts are out.
Rob’s success at the helm of the 400-strong chain saw him promoted to group CEO in March.
