High street favourite Carluccio’s has encountered some turbulent times in the last 18 months, joining the throng of casual dining chains that have consolidated their store portfolios in the face of enormous cost pressure.
The success of a pilot store in Richmond and the subsequent roll-out of the strategy to other sites has been an important milestone for the chain.
With fresh emphasis on recruiting, training and developing teams, and a clear plan to re-assert and build on its credentials, the company is adamant it has turned a corner.
Enhanced design and service are two key pillars of the new strategy, but it’s the third element – food – where Matt Dale comes.
Revitalising its menu is an essential component of the programme and the former Bill’s man is focused on elevating that part of the business.
